Laev maandus / Ship has landed

Seni seisis meie laev pukkide peal, et laeva kõhualusega oleks mugav algust teha. Kahe viimase planguringi jaoks on aga laevakere kerkinud ebamugavalt kõrgeks ja nii tuli laev pukkidelt alla lasta.
So far our ship was standing on trestles, so we could easily access the ships belly. For the last two planks however, the ship has raised too high and we had to lower it to the ground.

Bensiinaurune nädalavahetus lume ja tormiga / Gasolene fumes, snow and storm

6.-8. aprill sai jälle veidi laeva kallal nokitsetud. Laevaplankude vahele mätsitud mastiks tuli ebasobivatelt kohtadelt maha nühkida, et see hiljem laevakere tõrvamisel silma ei riivaks. Kõige mugavam ja käepärasem vahend mastiksi lahustamiseks on bensiin.

Peale mõnetunnist(?) bensiiniga nühkimist oli tuju kõigil ebameeldivalt lõbus ja et ilm kiskus kehvaks, trügisime laevakojast välja, läbi summa kogunenud roosade pingviinide ja tähistamise Austrvegr Seltsi pealiku Katti sünnipäeva. Meie pealiku auks sadas kõik kolm päeva ja kaks ööd laia lund, mis muutis ärasõidul autojuhtimise äärmiselt huvitavaks. "Lappeenranta ralli" sobiks seda teekonda ehk kõige paremini kirjeldama.

6th-8th April we decided to work on the ship again. Mastix compound that we used to seal the ships planks had to be removed from the hull, so it wouldn't stick under the overall tar-coating. The most readily available substance for such a job is gasolene.

After some hours(?) of wiping the ship with gasolene everyone was uncomfortably happy and as the weather turned nasty, we elbowed ourseves through the throng of pink penguins outside the shiphouse and decided to celebrate our leader Kattis birthday instead. Adding to the celebration it was snowing for three days and two nights, which turned cardriving in our way home rather interesting. "Lappeenranta rally" was a term that would perhaps describe it rather well.
