Ka laevakoer Notsu aitas taglastust teha. Vähemalt enda arvates / Shipdog Notsu helped also to make the rigging. Well atleast he thought so.

Eelnevad nädalad tabasid meid jällegi laeva kallal. Sisse said viimased kaared ja pinkide peale L-kujulised lisakaared. Valmis suur osa põrandat, mast ja alustasime taglase kallal nokitsemist. "Äge" sai veel ohtrasti tõrvakatet nii sisse kui välja ja vargsi valmivad ka vajalikud lisaaerud.

Kui ilm soodus ja töö jookseb kenasti laseme Äge sel nädalal veelkord vette ja proovime veidi laevatamiskunsti õppida.


Last weeks found us again working on the ship. We placed the last arcs and few benches were reinforced with additional L-shaped arcs. We made most of the floor, prepared the mast and begun working on the rigging. "Äge" was again tarred from inside and out and we are also making the additional oars.

If the weather permits and we finish planned work in time, we will launch Äge again this week and will sail a bit.

Äge on äge

Niisiis, blogipostitusi ei olnud mõned nädalad üldse mahti teha ja juhtunud on oioi kui palju.
Alustagem tähtsaimast, meie laev on sõiduvalmis ja tema nimi on ÄGE.

Kiruvere Muinaslaagriks oli kange tahtmine Äge sõidukorda saada ja seda me ka saime. Tegemata on veel mastikand, mast ja kogu taglastus. Muinaslaagriks sai valmis vaid kuus aeru kaheteistkümnest, kuid ka niiviisi liugles Äge elegantselt üle vee.

Muinaslaager võttis meilt viimasegi võhma, jõu, mõistuse ja elutahte, kuid siiski saime veidi ka laeva katsetada. Nagu laevameister Anti Kreem ennustas tuli Äge nobeda jooksuga, stabiilne, kuid ergas laev. Ta kuulab suurepäraselt tüüri, mahutab endasse üle kolmekümne inimese ja ka vaid poolte planeeritud aerude ning oskamatu meeskonnaga sõidab väga hästi.

So, there has not been any time to post anything into blog, but so much has happened in between. Lets begin with the most important, our ship is ready and her name is ÄGE.


We wanted to make her ready for launch for Kiruvere Muinaslaager and we managed. Some work remains, all the mast and everything related to sailing is still to be done. We only managed to make six oars from the needed twelve, but even so Äge slided elegently over the water.


Muinaslaager took the last of our strenght, minds and will to live, but even so we had a chance to assess the ship. As the masterbuilder Anti Kreem predicted Äge is fast, stable but energetic ship. She listens the steer very well, fits over thirty people inside and even with only half her oars and an unskilled crew still rides very well.

Pööripäeva laevaehitus / Midsommers shipbuilding

Ekstraordinaarselt vihmane jaaninädalavahetus möödus jälle laeva kallal nokitsedes. Tavapärasele seltskonnale lisaks oli laevakaari nikerdamas ka Indrek, kes ühtlasi nikerdab laevale uhkeid täävikujusid.


Extremeley rainy weekend was spent again working on the ship. In addition to regular crew, Indrek also helped setting the arcs. He is also the master who is making the bow and aft statues for the ship.

Inspektorid tegutsemas / Inspectors in action

Kuna fotograafid on laisad inimesi pildistama ja laev ei huvita enam kedagi, siis on fotoalbumid täis pilte loomadest. Laevakass Murka hoiab laevaehitusel hoolsalt silma peal.


As photographers are lazy to take pictures of people and the ship has bored everybody, the folders are filled with pictures of animals. Shipcat Murka is closely following the progress.
